Great pie and they deliver! I just had it two days in a row so you know it can't be bad. My go to is a sausage, pepperoni and jalapeño. My family loves the white pizza. It reminds me a a NY style pizza. The slices are huge and I fold it up to eat it. The delivery times are quick and everyone I've talked to has been friendly. I've never eaten inside or gotten anything but the pizza so this is kind of a short review.

Absolutely the best pizza I've have EVER! Thin hand tossed , nice char on the bottom ! But it can hold up to the toppings and not be whimpy . We got the meat pizza "Oh my God!" Wasn't greasy at all The mozzarella was delicious pepperoni so good ham with ground Beef and a delicious Italian sausage and no swimming or floating grease that's a good pizza I would drive from Virginia just to get another one

Seriously the best pizza I've ever had in my life. Everyone in my family agreed! According to nice staff members, everything is imported from New York. The all meat pizza is dynamite, even the cheese pizza is delicious. The garlic bread is equally amazing. Prices are very reasonable! This is a must try for anyone wanting to finally experience the best pizza of their lives!

If you are wanting a great pizza at a great price in Daytona beach this is the place to go!! This is seriously the best pizza I have had in my whole life. I am from Indiana and came here on vacation with my family. Wonderful atmosphere, great service, and seriously best pizza in town!!!

  • Scott M.

Great location in Daytona for authentic Italian food. Great service and very attentive to your needs. Like all Italian places expect to pay roughly $15 per person. Portions are large, you're sure to have left overs

We only get to the beach a few times a year, if that - but the pizza here is consistently good. They make a handful of pizzas without cheese that they call the 'low fat pizzas'. I'm not sure if they're low fat, but the Puttanesca Pizza is very tasty nonetheless. All in all, a solid choice when you are beat after a long day of beach activities.

Three of my friends and I vacationed to Daytona Beach for our Spring Break on a limited budget. We told ourselves that we would only eat out a couple of times, so we were very in depth when it came to looking for places to eat. We came upon Genovese's and we're impressed when looking at the menu and prices. It was also very appealing inside and felt very Italian. Everything was pretty well priced and pretty good quality. I got the Italian wedding soup which was a decent soup. Not too over the top but still tasty. For my entree I got the Chicken Parmesan with penne and it was very good! One of my friends got the Lobster Ravioli with Alfredo and I must say... it was delicious! The alfredo sauce was wonderful. Overall, nice environment and food. I definitely want to try more of their pasta dishes as well as try a pizza. Whenever I return to Daytona Beach I will definitely revisit Genovese's.

So I've been in town for four days and have eaten here twice already! The pizza is great and the pasta and lasagna are too. Their homemade marinara sauce is excellent. Also thankful for their courteous staff. Keep up the great work. :)

  • Donna P.

Best pizza in town or anywhere! Best spinach salad best calzones. ...best everything. Friendly staff! We order at least 2 times up to 4 times a week. That's how awesome the food is... Joe G. you have done our community proud...thank you!

  • Aaron S.

Pretty good pizza. This is our second time and I have ordered the margarita pizza twice. Very light and ingredients were tasty. Not overwhelming and not greasy - major plus! Crust was not too chewy either.

  • Tim D.

If you like great deep dish pizza, this is the place to go in the Daytona Beach area. It's a small place, but the service and food are great. I have only ordered the pizza so I can't speak for any of their other food.

  • BC C.

Would not recommend. Three of our five meals were mediocre at best, lasagna, Stromboli and meatballs. Two meals were inedible, the special of lobster lasagna and the eggplant rollatini. Nothing seemed to be made fresh. The wait staff was annoyed with simple requests.

Exhausted from trying to do too many things in one day, we decided to have pizza delivered to our hotel room. I just wanted to take a shower, eat and go to bed! Several people recommended Genovese's and I'm very happy they did. This is my kind of pizza! The crust was a little chewy for my tastes, but the toppings were incredibly delicious. I had the medium meat lovers ($16) while the family ordered medium cheese ($9.75). Are those great prices of what? Outside of Chicago, this is one of the best thin crust pizza's I've eaten. Highly recommend! Who knew Daytona Beach knows pizza :-) Yelp100 [6]

Great food. One of the best chicken parm subs I've had. And I am obsessed with finding a great chicken parm sub! Bread flown in from New York. Chicken and veal parm made from scratch - no fryer on premises! Can't give 5 stars - suspect the Alfredo sauce was canned. My husband loves his Stromboli and he's super picky on marinara sauces.

  • Ana O.

I really like this place. It's your basic Italian pasta/pizza place but the food meets all expectations. And it's one of the few places like this where they actually have a broccoli appetizer. And it's yummy. The broccoli was firm and drenched in yummy garlic/olive oil with a bit of red pepper flakes. It was sooo good with our pastas. My eggplant parm was bit too gooey and soft but I still liked it. The salad was HUGE. Overall, I thought it was very good in a not-so-fancy way. Try it!

Everything you order will be awesome. Period.

The great reviews prompted us to visit Genovese restaurant. The food was excellent, the gravy was delicious, with pieces of beef, sausage, meatballs etc. just like my grandmother made. We had the baked ziti and the manicotti and it was tremendous. We saw all of the pizza being delivered to nearby tables and for takeout, so we tried it the next night. While it was good, it wasn't on par with the entrees we had the night before. We definitely will be back.

  • Carol K.

Our favorite when in Daytona area. Being from NJ originally, we know pizza and this place makes it good! Thin crust, perfect sauce, lots of cheese. Their alfredo sauce is good, the lasagna is award winning, and eggplant yummy! We love the garlic bread made from a 'sub' roll. get it with mozzarella. And even if you're full, get a cannoli to go. Atmosphere is basic. Come as you are and enjoy a great meal!

  • Thomas C.

The only reason this is not a 5 star rating is because the service is a little slow. My wife and I did find out it was her first night on her defense. The food was beyond good. I got the cheese ravioli and my wife got the traditional spaghetti. And the tiramisu was phenomenal! Well worth the visit!

  • Carolyn M.

MUST go! Awesome food at reasonable prices. We are vegetarian and there were lots of options for us as well as meat eaters. Baked penne superb and I didn't get through half of it. We have a winter place in Daytona and love trying different restaurants each year....sorry it took so long to try this treasure! Locals sure know about their pizza....take outs were flying out the door during our visit. Highly recommend!!!

    (5)
  • Eric F.

This place was one of my favorite places that I frequented while I lived in Daytona. Its a hole in the wall, where the service can be hit or miss but all in all pretty good. The portions are large and I recommend the pizza or Veal Parm...However, NEVER get the salad. They don't make their own dressing and don't have Cesar dressing. Besides the wedding soup is good and filling

  • Noreen F.

Back in the day, whenever we had a hunkering for some fresh, homemade stromboli smothered in Mrs. Genovese's hearty "tomatoeeee" marinara sauce. We'd head on down to this little restaurant just a hop, skip and a jump from our condo. Mr. and Mrs. Genovese, in thier late 30's to mid 40's at the time, were always attentive and not overly friendly with their "how do you do's". Another Italian eatery, that made you feel right at home!

    (5)
  • Gene P.

My wife and I had dinner there tonight. Baked Penne with meat sauce and Fettuccini with meat sauce and sausage. Both were wonderful.... A taste of NY in Florida.

  • Brittni C.

When it comes to pizza, I'm usually quite easy to please. BUT, this pizza was burnt, burnt, burnt and more burnt. The dough was so dry I could barely chew a piece off. The sauce was bland and not very good. There was no flavor, except burnt. With all the positive reviews of their pizza, maybe they were just having an off day.

    (1)
  • Rob S.

Genovese's is, hands down, a solid pie. I go into an Italian ristorante with my mouth hankerin' for some veal....dammit, a waiter comes out with a pie that is wanting to be eaten by me. I order a 13 inch cheese pie with pepperoni. Our wonderful waitress, Wendy brings out the pie, and I lift up her skirt...the pie, not Wendy's...and saw the perfect example of a "leopard-spot" char. She tried to apologize for the "burnt" bottom, while I tried to explain that it was perfect. I won! Ambiance was good, low lights overall, bright on the table tops, low volume classic rock. Best as I can tell, the dough is in house, but the topping are store bought. The crust was dense, but the pizzaiola rocks the clock with the time in oven. The cheese was a low-moisture mozzarella, without much stretch. The red sauce was average, store bought...I make better...but still good on the average, and the tap beer is cold...always good. Will I be back??? Prolly on Saturday after the Nationwide Race;-)

Been ordering here for years. Fairly consistent. Sometimes their small pizzas can vary greatly by size. Otherwise, everything always tastes very good. The red clam pizza (when they have it) is my favorite item on the menu!

  • Rob W.

Ate at Genovese's on a recommendation of another Spring breaker. It was delicious and the service was outstanding. The pizza was excellent. Don't bother going anywhere else for pizza, even though others might claim to be the best in town. The Stromboli was delicious and my son loved the lasagna. The portions are huge and reasonably priced.

  • Deke K.

I stopped in on a chilly night for hot soup, thinking pasta fagioli would be the standard. Instead it was Italian wedding soup. It was a bit bland cup of soup ($4.50) that did not maintain its heat. There were plenty of meatballs and little round pastas beads and unidentifiable green flecks (spinach?). I also got a tossed salad ($4.50) that was a standard salad. The meal was an "ok" meal and hit the spot for what I wanted to eat. I paid about the same as I could've for a pasta meal--so I think the price structure is a little high for what you get. No bread offered. The place was nearly empty at suppertime, the help congregated at the bar. Nothing impressive about the place on this visit.

  • B P.

Disgusted. We ordered a pizza today and found TWO large worms in it. We had already began eating it, when my sister discovered one on her slice. We tore apart the rest of the pizza and found one more. We are so disgusted. We will NEVER step near this place again.

My family and I are vacationing in Daytona. We got in the mood for pizza so we ordered a meat lovers and a cheese. Literally the best pizza I've ever had. Yes I know that's a big statement, but it truly was that good of a pizza. We will eat here again.

    (5)
  • Jeff D.

The pizza and Alfredo was fantastic. The meatball sub Hade great flavor, but needed more meatballs and a little more size. Will definitely eat here again. My daughter said it was the best Alfredo and creamiest that she ever had.

Visiting Port Orange you must stop at Genovese's to get a pizza or calzone. Salad leaves much to be desired but the basics - pizza/calzone, or spaghetti and it is a home run!

  • Chris C.

Very good quality food. Excellent staff. Terrific value. Plan on returning in the future. My family members have been here a number of times and are quite happy with the meals.

  • Michelle C.

Good not great. I ordered this pizza for delivery to my hotel. Service was fast. The pizza was a bit too salty for my tastes. The crust had too much salt as well. Also, not enough sauce, but I like a saucier pizza.

    (3)
  • Robert P.

Hour and a half wait for a delivered pizza which is why the 3 stars. I ordered a pineapple pizza which wasn't a good combo with the sauce & spices they use. With the pineapple picked off the pizza was good. I am sure with savory toppings the pizza would be great.

Located on the side of the Dunlawton bridge that's closest to the beach, right next to the Bikini Company (another fav of mine)... be careful which order you visit these two places in... Thanks to Eric F. for recommending the Italian Wedding soup and suggesting a pass on the salad... I'm sitting here on a Wednesday, the special is Penne w/ Meatballs, chose soup over salad... it was delish, even the bread is delicious... totally simple, warm, and yummy. The fountain soda diet coke is the best I've had since I got here (13 days in) and my server gave me a to-go cup for my soda as i was leaving, big plus. the veal parm was a bit tough for me tastes, wouldn't get it again... maybe chicken next time, but def not eggplant--server said it is frozen. another useless bit: my server complimented me on my smile as she brought back my cc receipt for me to sign... something that may have irritated me if it had felt like a last-minute push for a sweet tip... but it wasn't, she had been attentive and nice the entire time i was there, plus i do have a killer smile.

Used to think this place was the best pizza in town. It is second best. Just had a pizza from Pete's Pizza on Nova Rd. What more can you say? If only people in Daytona restaurants did not find it necessary to shout into their cell phones while in restaurants!

We were there a couple of weeks ago. The food has always been good. The service was a little screwy this last time. My husband always orders the meat stromboli. The cook must have put them in at the same time. People who were seated after us were served and nothing came out at the same time. I was with a party of 4 and everyone got their meal at a different time. No server used a tray. They just carried the meals out one at a time. A little odd. My husbands stromboli came out last and it was dark on the bottom. It seemed like the take out customers were getting their food first. I would go back because the food always seems fresh.

After a rough day of travel, we opted to order in to our hotel and eat on our balcony. I called for delivery (free) and yet they needed my actual hotel address. So I had to hang up and find it. I sort of thought they might know the hotels practically on their block! Not the most friendly way to take an order, as I got passed around to a few people. I ordered way too much food for 2 people: chicken parm and penne, a pizza, meat Stromboli, &tiramisu. It came with a generic salad that we opted not to eat, and bread. Everything else was really tasty and we had plenty of leftovers for the next day! All of that food was $43. What a steal. I asked for an itemized receipt (I am here on business and need it for expenses) but they forgot it and my cc receipt. We are here for a week, and I would order from them again. Food: 4.5, Service: 3, Value: 5

They ran out of soup when we came unfortunately, so we got salad and garlic bread. Salad, as other reviewers mentioned, was typical iceberg salad with store bought dressing. The garlic bread was really good, garlicky and topped with tons of nice stinky parm, loved it! Ordered the lobster ravioli and manicotti with meatballs, both were okay. Lobster ravioli was nice but it had tons of seemingly store bought alfredo sauce, good thing it was plopped in the middle with the raviolis surrounding it. Manicotti was okay, a little burnt. Meatballs were large and had a good beefy taste to them. Service was slow considering the restaurant only had 4 tables left.

One Saturday evening after spending all day at the beach and having a few drinks I decided to find a new pizza place in the area. Thanks to my friend Jodi and confirming through Yelp I decided on I would give these guys a try. Located just off A1A heading west on Dunlawton you will find this hole in the wall that serves up a mean pie. Don't expect too much out of the decor or the ambiance. We got there right before closing time so we had the place to ourselves. Placed a take out order for a Margherita with bacon and pepperoni and also requested they brush garlic butter on the crust. While waiting for our order we had a beer and chatted with the staff. All very personable and friendly. Met the owner who is a very nice guy. Pricing was on par but what separated these guys from the rest was the service as well as the pizza itself. When I asked the guys their staple or favorite item on the menu the stromboli seemed to get the majority of the votes while the owner said they are known for their pizzas. I would definitely go back to this place next time I am craving pizza. I was even told they would deliver all the way out to 95. Now that is insane! Support local businesses!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
